Peak Performance Consulting, LLC - Failure Analysis

MISSION STatement

Peak Performance Consulting’s Mission Statement

To assure the asset owner obtains the optimum performance of the coating system being applied to an asset. This goal goes much further than just doing the work and following the specification!

We understand the specification process!

This incredible depth of knowledge allows us to consult from the beginning of a project and help avoid down-stream issues by making sure the entire coating segment of the specification is clear, understandable, proper for the asset/application/environment, and is as easy-to-follow as possible for the coating contractor.

We understand the challenges the contractor faces

We believe working with the blasting and/or coating contractor to confirm they understand the importance of the current conditions and that all processes are being followed as per the specification. We want the contractor to be paid for a job well done, and never want to see a failure which would cause the contractor to have to re-do any aspect of a job.

We understand all coatings systems

From formulation and manufacturing to packaging, storage, and on to know how, when, and by whom they must be applied to obtain that optimum performance on which the owner is depending.

We understand the role of our NACE/AMPP Certified Coating Inspectors

We take this role seriously and believe it is the role of our PPC on-site inspectors to provide a finished project as per the specification as we are the on-site eyes and ears of the off-site owner. Our role includes confirming all aspects of each hold point -- and if aspect of any hold point is overlooked which would allow any compromise to obtaining the best outcome of the application, it is our promise to communicate these observations to the contractor, engineer, asset owner, or assignee to move forward with an assurance that the specification will be followed.

We understand site conditions

These conditions are potentially many and varied and can range from weather, visibility, health and safety, manpower, equipment, surface preparation, conditions and situations involving the coating, proper mixing/timing/application, and not to forget the importance of testing after application to assure the asset has been coated as per the specification which will provide the longest-lived coating system for the asset.

In Conclusion

The Peak Performance Consulting’s goal is for excellence in communication among all involved in projects we are part of.  We also strive for the best team effort possible! This team includes the Engineer, Asset Owner, Coatings Manufacturer Representative, our Certified Inspectors, Blasting Contractor, Coating Contractor, General Contractor, and Local Municipality Inspector.

From our perspective of achieving a followed specification, every member of this team should have the same outcome goal; “To commit that the asset owner winds up with the expected performance of the coating system being applied to the asset.”
